It has a uniquely high concentration of sodium hyaluronate (0.4% NaHA), which occurs naturally in the eye and hydrates the tear film, this helps provide long lasting comfort protection.

Clinitas Soothe is a gentle preservative-free eye drop in easy to use daily dose vials. Once opened, the cap can be inverted to re-seal the dropper for use throughout the day up to 12 hours. It contains the highest concentration of sodium hyaluronate (0.40% - a naturally occurring product in the eye) available in an eye drop.

Each dropper contains approximately 10-12 drops and comes in packs of 20 reusable vials, making Clinitas Soothe an economical and very convenient eye drop.

Why should you use Clinitas Soothe?

Soothe is a gentle preservative-free eye drop in easy to use daily re-sealable and re-useable droppers. Soothe contains the highest commercially available concentration of sodium hyaluronate (0.4%), a natural water binding material that increases tear film stability and stays on the eye longer.

Once opened, the cap can be inverted to re-seal the dropper for use throughout the day up to 12 hours. Each dropper contains approximately 10-12 drops, making Soothe an economical and very convenient eye drop.

Preservatives

Preservatives in eye drops should be avoided as they may worsen the patient's condition. This applies particularly to patients with moderate and severe dry eye, who may have to use eye drops more frequently.

Many products used for the relief of dry eye symptoms contain preservatives. The use of preservatives, especially over a long period of time, further aggravates an already inflamed epithelium. All preservatives have the potential to cause allergic reactions.

Benzalkonium chloride (BAC) is the most commonly used preservative. Frequent use of ophthalmic solutions containing preservatives can cause a higher incidence of epithelial damage and oedema in patients with glaucoma, dry eyes, infections or iritis, who need to use eye drops for a long period of time. Repeated doses of preserved eye drops can have a cumulative effect, and the prolonged contact with the epithelium may cause chronic irritation and subconjunctival fibrosis.

The new DEWSII report issued in July 2017 has this to say about preservatives: "Chronic exposure of the ocular surface to preservatives is now well recognised to induce toxicity and adverse changes to the ocular surface...preservative-free drops may be a better choice for patients who have pre-existing ocular surface conditions and/or need frequent instillation of eye drops.... Preservative-free eye drops have shown greater effectiveness than preserved drops in decreasing inflammation on the ocular surface and increasing the antioxidant contents in tears of patients with DED."

Clinitas is 100% preservative free and is therefore designed to avoid corneal damage and thus benefit patients.
