Product information

BioLon® contains highly engineered, ultrapure biosynthetic hyaluronic acid (1%) with optimised viscosity in an easy to use 1ml syringe which is designed to be bubble free. BioLon provides the necessary viscosity and molecular weight to ensure high surgical performance and predictability. BioLon guarantees safety and maximum efficacy in each surgical procedure. It can be reliably used wherever anterior chamber depth maintenance is important. It protects endothelial cells and is easy to remove after the procedure is complete due to its cohesive nature.

Ultrapure sodium Hyaluronate
  • With purity a central consideration in choosing a viscoelastic for surgical procedures, BioLon uses highly sophisticated purification methods to produce an ultrapure sodium hyaluronate solution free of nucleic acids, proteins and other impurities.
NaHA is a naturally occurring polysaccharide, ubiquitous in nature and chemically identical in all species. It is found in the vitreous and aqueous humor of the eye, in the synovial fluid surrounding knee and other joints, in skin and in other organs. This high molecular weight, ultra-pure sodium hyaluronate, is manufactured using an efficient biosynthetic process. It is used to lubricate the eye and maintain low intraocular pressure while facilitating surgery to reduce trauma to the corneal endothelium.

BioLon Testimonial - NHS Hospital

We have recently had a trial comparing various viscoelastics as part of a trust cost saving initiative. BioLon was the preferred viscoelastic for cataract surgery. It was also the best value for money and did not need to be refrigerated.

User friendly syringe design

1. Easy 2 step essemble
The BioLon syringe is supplied in tamper evident blister packaging for protection and assembly is a simple as removing the syringe cap and attaching the supplied cannula

2.. Technique enhancing
BioLon is easily infused, used and aspirated.

3. Rotating finger grip
Unique grip for superior control during surgery. Allows position changes within the anterior chamber without reinsertion.

4. Fill volume.
17% more viscoelastic per syringe is supplied with BioLon Vs. a syringe volume fill of 0.85ml. This provides potential savings of cost and space by avoiding the use of a second syringe for additional viscoelastic.

BioLon Testimonial - Private Clinic in London

"The main reason why we switched to BioLon is because of the ease of storage. We can’t store a lot of things in the fridge because of lack of space, and BioLon can be stored at room temperature, which gives us an opportunity to order in bulk. It is also reliable and affordable and comes in 1ml syringe."
